Prep before your treatment
Please be sure not to drink alcohol 24-48 hours prior or take any blood thinning medications/vitamins 7 days prior to your appointment as it can cause bruising.

Eat before your appointment and make sure to not drink any caffeinated beverages.

With your filler treatment we do recommend drinking pineapple juice and taking arnica montana tablets 3 days prior to help with bruising.

WRINKLE RELAXER (tox) AFTERCARE

  • Try to use the injected muscles for the first 1-2 hours after treatment: practice frowning, raising your eyebrows and squinting. This helps work Botox® into your muscles. Although this is thought to help, this will not impact your treatment negatively if you forget.

  • The results of your treatment can take up to 14 days to take full effect. Usually, patients notice a change in 4-5 days. It takes time for the muscles to lose strength and the lines to fade following Botox, Jeuveau, Dysport, Xeomin treatment. Please wait until 14 days have passed before assessing if you are pleased with the results.

  • Do not touch or rub the injected site for 2-4 hours following treatment. Avoid exercise and sweating for the remainder of the day.

  • There can be a slight chance of bruising at the treated site, this is temporary. Be assured that any tiny bumps or marks will go away within a few hours of treatment.

  • Avoid any type of facial, microdermabrasion, or massage for 14 days after treatment.

  • Avoid Ibuprofen, Advil or Motrin, Tylenol is acceptable to take if experiencing discomfort (if not contraindicated)

  • Botox, Jeuveau, Dysport, Xeomin is a temporary procedure and at first, you may find that your treatment results will last approximately 3-4 months. If you maintain your treatment appointments with the frequency recommended by your clinician, the duration of each treatment results may last longer than 4 months.

  • Your satisfaction is important to us! We would like you to return to the office in 2 weeks for a follow-up assessment appointment, especially after your first treatment. This will ensure we are able to see how your facial muscles react to your treatment. If you require additional Botox, Jeuveau, Dysport, Xeomin to fine-tune/adjust your treatment results there will be additional charges at the regular rate.

  • Remember your sunscreen every day.

DERMAL FILLER AFTERCARE

  • Immediately after the treatment, there may be redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness, and/or itching near the injection site. Avoid itching, massaging, or picking around the injection site. This is normal and generally disappears within a few hours to a few days. If these symptoms last more than 3 days, please contact our office.

  • As part of your aftercare, we will provide you with ice and arnica cream which can reduce or resolve potential bruising

  • You may take acetaminophen (Tylenol) to reduce any pain as necessary

  • Within 6 to 10 Hours of Treatment Avoid drinking alcohol or partaking in strenuous exercise, as it may result in additional bruising.

  • Until the swelling and redness have resolved, avoid intense heat in the treated area(s). This includes sunbathing, tanning, saunas, hot tubs, or hot wax. Also avoid extreme cold such as skiing or other winter sports.

  • To help alleviate bruising, we recommend the topical application of Arnica - a natural ointment commonly used to reduce bruising. You can find this in the natural foods section of your grocery store, or at local pharmacies.

  • Sunscreen and makeup can be applied if it is not on the area.

  • Some visible lumps may occur temporarily following the injection. DO NOT MASSAGE. After the swelling has gone down, you may be able to feel bumps, but they should no longer be visible.

  • Avoid kissing, straws, or other motions similar to avoid filler migration.
